What is the purpose of an auxiliary battery?

Particularly in emergency, special and commercial vehicles, additional electrical consumers are often on board. Whether additional headlights, IT equipment or tools - they all need sufficient energy to be on hand when needed. Relying on supply from the starter battery for those consumers is not recommended. Only a powerful auxiliary battery with its own recharging option makes reliable operation possible and safe.

If you are looking for an auxiliary battery, we offer an innovative, ready-to-assemble solution: the auxiliary battery pack. In addition to a powerful 12 V AGM battery with a capacity of 90 Ah, it also includes our charge booster BPC.

How does the LEAB auxiliary battery pack work?

The auxiliary battery pack is integrated into the vehicle's on-board supply system. The alternator supplies the starter battery and the auxiliary battery pack with energy. The latter is connected to an intelligent control as well as a status display. Crucially, the auxiliary battery is also equipped with a charge booster. It guarantees regulated charging via the alternator, even independently of generator management and start-stop systems. This means that the auxiliary battery can reliably supply additional consumers while the starter battery is not being used. While driving, both batteries can then be recharged via the alternator.

How is the LEAB auxiliary battery pack installed?

Due to its compact dimensions, our auxiliary battery pack can be installed in many Euro 6 vehicles. The provided battery tray makes assembly conceivably easy and ensures that the auxiliary battery is securely anchored in the vehicle. The charging booster included is screwed directly to the side of the battery tray.
