Constantly compliant to standard
While on the move and also when stationary, LEAB battery chargers ensure that the batteries in fire engines do not run out of power. We adhere to DIN standard 14679 when developing our versatile devices.
Constantly powered devices
The batteries of fire-fighting vehicles are particularly affected, as they are constantly discharged by intensive use, long periods of standstill and consumers, that cannot be switched off.
Therefore, an integrated battery charger for charge maintenance is an indispensable precondition to avoid vehicle breakdowns.
Solutions for all sectors
DIN standard 14679 defines the basic requirements for battery chargers for the trickle charging of starter and auxiliary batteries for special applications in the fire service. We offer a wide range of battery chargers for trickle charging which of course comply with this DIN standard 14679:
RBC: Particularly robust and powerful battery charger with CAN bus connection for charging all types of lead batteries as well as lithium batteries. Available with an output voltage of 12 V or 24 V and charging currents from 40 A to 105 A. The charging characteristic is freely adjustable.
ABC protection class II: The battery chargers of the ABC series in protection class II are available with an output voltage of 12 V or 24 V and charging currents from 20 A to 30 A. For charging lead batteries (wet, gel, AGM), 15 selectable charging characteristics are available.
Champ: With this device, the charging characteristic is preset depending on the battery type. The particularly compact and waterproof Champ battery charger is available with output voltages of 12 V or 24 V and charging currents of up to 17 A.
Champ Pro: Extremely robust, waterproof built-in battery charger for special vehicles. It can be used in 12 V or 24 V on-board networks with various lead-acid batteries. It delivers charging currents of up to 30 A. The charging characteristic can be adjusted for different battery types.
Available in various protection types
Adapted to the specific needs of our customers, LEAB chargers are available with IP21 or IP67 protection. An exception is our RBC, which is available in IP54 and IP66 protection. For gentle charging, a device with adjustable charging characteristic is recommended. In addition, external sensors for measuring temperature and voltage are available for most products in this category. The following applies to all: LEAB's proven chargers have been in use for many years, which is why fire brigades have been relying on our charging technology in their emergency vehicles for over 20 years.
