Quality Day 2024: Insights into the world of product management

On 16 and 17 April, a total of 38 LEAB employees came together to take part in the annual Quality Day on three different dates. Three dates were deliberately offered to enable everyone to take part. For the same reason, it was also possible to take part in the event online, explains Nicole Schmidt, Head of Quality Management.

“We offer very individualised working models and take great care to ensure that no one is disadvantaged as a result,” says Nicole Schmidt.

A Day characterised by quality and Collaboration

Nele Lorenzen and Christian Iglhaut from Product Management were able to present themselves to their colleagues three times and give an insight into their day-to-day work.

‘The Quality Day was actually only scheduled for the autumn, but we really wanted to take part in the event and volunteered early on,’ says Nele Lorenzen. “Our department supports the entire product cycle - from development to market launch and beyond. Among other things, we always have to pay attention to sustainability aspects such as reparability and recycling.”

Always open to suggestions

All team members are encouraged to constantly contribute their ideas for products and bring them to the attention of product management. These are collected and evaluated in regular meetings. An insight into the work of product management is intended to encourage even greater utilisation of this opportunity. And it was well received.

“I had the impression that this quality day was even better received than the two previous ones,” says Nicole Schmidt. “People were very motivated, there were lots of “aha” moments and good feedback for the day afterwards. It is very important to us that everyone knows what is being done in the other areas. Ultimately, this creates better cooperation and continuously improves processes.”

Conclusion and Outlook

The positive response and the growing interest of our employees show that the Quality Day is playing an increasingly important role in our company. It remains to be seen which department will be the focus next year, but one thing is certain: The Quality Day will remain in place in order to continue to guarantee the high standards that we set for our products and ourselves.
