Troubleshooting LPS II

If a malfunction occurs during operation of the LPS II or if it enters a critical operating state, an error code is shown on the display of the device or the Remote Display. The table below lists the error codes and their respective meanings, as well as the solution recommended for troubleshooting.
As long as the error has not been solved, the code can be retrieved from the error log as follows:
Error code read-out directly at the LPS II
Press ‘OK’ to enter the menu.
Use the up/down arrow keys to select the menu item ‘General’.
Confirm the selection by pressing ‘OK’.
Use the up/down arrow keys to select the menu item ‘Error codes’.
Confirm the selection by pressing ’OK’.
The codes of the errors that have occurred are now shown.
Error code read-out at the LPS II Remote Display
Press the rotary button repeatedly until the ‘State III’ menu is displayed.
Turn the rotary button to select the menu item ‘Further Settings …’.
Confirm the selection by pressing the rotary button.
Turn the rotary button to select the menu item ’Error codes …’.
Confirm the selection by pressing the rotary button.
The code of the existing error now appears on the Remote Display.
LPS II Error codes

Temperature
Error code | Meaning | Fixing the error |

4 | Operating temperature of the internal electronics is in the range of the lower limit | Make sure that the LPS II does not cool down lower. Place the device in a location with a higher ambient temperature and wait until it has warmed up. |
5 | Internal electronics too cold to operate | Place the LPS II in a location with a higher ambient temperature and wait until the device has warmed up. |
6 | Operating temperature of the internal electronics is in the range of the upper limit | Make sure that the LPS II does not heat up higher. Place the device in a location with a lower ambient temperature and wait until it has cooled down. |
7 | Internal electronics too warm to operate | Place the LPS II in a location with a lower ambient temperature and wait until the device has cooled down. |
8, 9 | A temperature sensor failed | Service necessary, please contact your dealer. |
Data error
Error code | Meaning | Fixing the error |

11 | Connection to the remote control is overloaded or short-circuited | On the back side of the LPS II, disconnect the M12 connector at the ‘REMOTE’ port and check it as well as the cable for damage. |
12 | Data connection (back side) is overloaded or short-circuited | On the back side of the LPS II, disconnect the M12 connector at the ‘DATA’ port and check it as well as the cable for damage. |
13 | Data connection (front panel) is overloaded or short-circuited | On the front panel of the LPS II, disconnect the M12 connector at the ‘DATA’ port and check it as well as the cable for damage. |
14 | Solar connection is overloaded or short-circuited | On the back side of the LPS II, disconnect the M12 connector at the ‘C2’ port (Solar+) and check it as well as the cable for damage. |
IGBT Error
Error code | Meaning | Fixing the error |

20, 22 | Error in the internal power control | Remove all power consuming devices and restart the LPS II by pressing and holding both power buttons for 10 seconds. If the error is not solved by the restart, please contact your dealer. |
Battery cells

30 – 48 | Calibration failure | Service necessary, please contact your dealer. |
50 | One or more battery cells are missing or have failed | Service necessary, please contact your dealer. |
51 | The Battery is empty | Charge the LPS II using 230 V AC, 12 V DC or solar. |
52 | The voltage of one or more battery cells is in the range of the lower limit | Charge the LPS II using 230 V AC, 12 V DC or solar. |
53 | The voltage of one or more battery cells is too low | Charge the LPS II using 230 V AC, 12 V DC or solar. |
54 | The voltage of one or more battery cells is in the range of the upper limit | Unplug all charging connectors and then wait until the values have equalized. If the warning does not disappear within 24 hours, please contact your dealer. |
55 | The voltage of one or more battery cells is too high | Unplug all charging connectors and then wait until the values have equalized. If the warning does not disappear within 24 hours, please contact your dealer. |
56 | The temperature of one or more battery cells is in the range of the lower limit | Make sure that the LPS II does not cool down lower. Place the device in a location with a higher ambient temperature. |
57 | The temperature of one or more battery cells is too low | Place the LPS II in a location with a higher ambient temperature and wait until the device has warmed up. |
58 | The temperature of one or more battery cells is in the range of the upper limit | Make sure that the LPS II does not heat up higher. Wait until the device has cooled down or place it in a location with a lower ambient temperature. |
59 | The temperature of one or more battery cells is too high | Place the LPS II in a location with a lower ambient temperature and wait until the device has cooled down. |
60 | The total voltage of the battery is too low | Charge the LPS II using 230 V AC, 12 V DC or solar. |

91 | DC input voltage too high for battery charging | Ensure that the LPS II is supplied with a maximum voltage of 32 V DC at the 12 V DC input. |
92 | DC input voltage too low for the DC-DC converter | Ensure that the LPS II is supplied with a voltage of at least 11.5 V DC at the 12 V DC input. |
93 | DC-DC converter does not operate as expected | Service necessary, please contact your dealer. |
94 | DC output relay connect failure | Service necessary, please contact your dealer. |
95 | DC output relay disconnect failure | Attention! In this case, current is still present at the 12 V DC output! Service necessary, please contact your dealer. |
96 | Charging current at 12 V DC output (super charge) too high | Remove the power source or reduce the charging current at the 12 V DC output. |

120 | DC-DC internal critical failure | Switch off the LPS II and wait 5 seconds before restarting the device by pressing and holding both power buttons for 10 seconds. If the error is not solved by the restart, please contact your dealer. |
121 | DC-DC master communication | Check the M12 connector on the ‘DATA’ port (front or back) and the data wiring to the external booster (super charge). |
122 | DC-DC temperature warning | Make sure that the LPS II does not heat up higher. Place the device in a location with a lower ambient temperature and wait until it has cooled down. |
123 | DC-DC temperature too high | Place the device in a location with a lower ambient temperature and wait until it has cooled down. |
124 | DC-DC input voltage too high | Ensure that the LPS II is supplied with a maximum voltage of 32 V DC at the 12 V DC input. 155 | Overload timer for 230 V AC output is running. Overload error may occur soon | The 230 V AC output is in the range of overload. Make sure that the maximum continuous output load is not exceeded for more than 10 minutes, otherwise the LPS II will shut down automatically. |
