How the ID.Buzz becomes a real power bank
The ID. Buzz is the first all-electric bus from Volkswagen and is becoming increasingly popular. This applies not only to private use, but also to the area of emergency and service vehicles, for example for emergency doctors, service technicians and authorities. There are strict guidelines for the design of the bus in order to guarantee the operational safety of the vehicle. Among other things, only products that have received an official clearance certificate from VW should be installed - for example our LPS II.
Always close to the market
“We always want to stay close to the market with our products, and electromobility is playing an increasingly important role in both the transport and service sectors. The clearance certificate for the ID. Buzz is a strong signal to vehicle manufacturers that our LPS II is ideally suited to the high demands of e-mobility,” says Christian Dethlefsen, Head of Products and Information at LEAB.

Four weeks in the workshop
In order to obtain the coveted certificate, our team was given an ID. Buzz for four weeks to professionally install our lithium-based all-in-one power supply and document the process. This involved not only the electrical supply, but also the mechanical installation with our Pro mounting plate and networking with the existing electronic systems. As an integrated Volkswagen partner, we have been working closely with the company for a long time and know the construction method well.
The solution for additional power in electric vehicles
“The certification relates to the entire vehicle, not just the design of the body or the functions of our LPS II. It all has to be consistent,” explains Christian Dethlefsen. “This approval means a lot to us. Now everyone knows that they are getting a great solution for e-mobility with the LPS II - and can install it without any worries.”
